DON'T FAINT!
it's an UPDATE! (hey, that rhymed! :P )
i have just not been feeling the whole blog thing lately...no real reason, just kinda walked away.
BUT, i know a lot of my blog readers already know, i have awesome, awesome news!!! happy dance, happy tears kinda news!
i was at the unforgettables crop for kids this weekend, put on by the amazing karen, with my awesome, rad, beautiful friends. the crop was a huge success for a great cause, raising over $16,000 for a great cause. really, karen deserves a bug kudos for all the work she did to raise this money. WTG, karen! you rock! and it was good to see cheryl, candice, stephanie, and donna - it was so good of them to do their great make and takes. :) you can see some of the make and take action on leah fung's blog - what a sweet lady she was!
and, yadda yadda yadda, little ole ME won the GRAND PRIZE!!!!! :) :) :) my family and i will doing a photo shoot with the incomparable .....
i was so happy - i got all emotional and embarrassed myselft, but it was totally awesome. i swear, all my life, i have rarely won anything worth even remembering. i *did* win an autographed pet shop boys album from a radio station in like 1987, but not much else. lol! well, let me tell you, this really makes up for it! :) i'm so glad that tara was so generous to be a part of this fundraiser - she is an awesome girl who i stalk in target, so i know this will be a lot of fun! i made a promise to myself to not schedule the shoot until i lose X number of pounds - i want this to be good. tomorrow is february 1st and time to re-join my gym. ;) but seriously, it was a real thrill, and i just couldn't be happier about any of it! thanks to everyone who posted or emailed or called with congratulations! :)
after the crop, the out of towners headed to the disney grand californian hotel. i seriously want to move into that place.... the lobby is just beautiful, and the rooms were pretty nice, too. but this room - it made me want to paint or write poetry or something. just amazing.
we dodged some seriously heavy rain visiting the parks - it made it not-so-crowded, which is always a good thing. being a DL without the kids - wow, i got to go on grown up rides. i even went on the tower of terror, and i wasn't even the more frightened person on the ride..... :P lots of fun!
i spent a couple of days shuttling between home and the girlies at the hotel. we got to have lunch and shop with wendy and her sweeties. anna and i got to go to paris to the moon - one of my favorite places evah! i know i am totally leaving out lots of fun and scandalous details, but really, at this point, it's all a blur.
my birthday was a couple of weeks ago, and i totally scored and got lots of goodies. spent THREE HOURS at the mall BY MYSELF - it was pretty much as close to heaven on earth as you can get in orange county as a sahm of two little ones. lol! GAP was having a GREAT sale, lots of fun winter stuff and even shoes, i got to spend a big old GC at sephora, and found a few other goodies. fun stuff! :) i have even recently acquired a new phone, the env.
ok, i guess since it has been a month since i last blogged, this was bound to be long! and hopefully, it won't be another month until my next post. taking off in a couple of days for las vegas for a big superbowl party. that ought to be fun (and CROWDED)! i haven't been to vegas for a while, so i am actually looking forward to it. i *might* even get myself a massage... ;)
oh, and one TEENSY tiny rant...
do grocery stores train the baggers to USE AS MANY BAGS AS THEY POSSIBLY CAN??? i swear, when i forget my reusable bags, i have to tell them to use as few bags as possible - i don't care if they are heavy or crowded (or better yet, let me bag them myself...) so what do they do?? they will do something like double bag or put one item in a bag. they look at me like i am insane when i don't 5 bags for 3 items.... sorry, i guess this has been bugging me. i need to put my reusables on the front seat of my car and always remember them. vent over! oh, and i am bummed that rudy dropped out of the presidential race... but oh well....
hope everyone had a great january!! i seriously cannot believe how fast life is whizzing by....hope to see y'all before march! ;)

Seriously, I might buy Wendy's place just to live nice and close so we can shop at Paris and all the cool antique places...

An "out of townie" blowing you a big kiss of gratitude and appreciation for all your driving around and tour guide services. We had so much fun, didn't we? I hope you are having an awesome weekend in Vegas with hubby and enjoying your time together.
Thank you so much Laura. You were great and it's always wonderful to see you. I'm also grateful to have been sitting across the table from you when you won your GRAND PRIZE. So deserved, I must say.
